  Using the thin feeler gauge on the rockers individually will take up
the free movement on the individual valve. By doing this, you will hear
the different sound of the one that is suspect.
  Use a feeler gauge that is not one of your favorites, since this use
sometimes causes the gauge to get bent up.  It's still OK for this sort
of testing, but its thickness may be changed.
