It seems odd to me that the machine shop would bore the block without the
pistons.  My experance has been the machine shop needs to measure the pistons to
match the bores to them.  As far as the 2.4" skirted pistons, use them.  If you
ordered the right ones for the 18GB engine their should be no broblem with your
old rods.  Just have the little ends re-bushed.
