I'm driving a Cooper S that I reshelled with a Mark V bodyshell from
Heritage.

I had heard horror stories, so I took special care:

I had the shell dipped in rust inhibitor, then sprayed with epoxy
sealer/primer and oven-baked. Then color-sprayed and baked again.
Then left wax-free and kept clean for a few months, then trim and
stickers added, then lightly scuffed and shot with a flexible
clear-coat over the entire shell, including the stickers, then the
finish buffed to a high shine. It has been waxed about five times
since then, always buffed to a high shine right after. The paint job
was done in the spring of 1999; the car was completed in October
1999 and I have been driving it ever since. It is not garaged and
sits in the sun during the day.

There has been no fading, of paint or stickers, and there is no hint
of rust anywhere on the car. Pictures on my main webpage. URL just
below.
