Ok
I had a closer look with a torch!
There is a core plug in the back of the engine block
and it is installed in mine....its hidden under the
back cover plate which has a hole in it where the core
plug is.
Next question is, is it worth filing or covering the
hole in the back cover plate (possibly preserving the
core plug for a longer period) or best to leave it
open to what ever may fall in there and corrosion?
