Reminds me of an embarassing moment. I had grown up with a bunch of mates
and we all fiddled about with pedal bikes and motor bikes before gravitating
to cars, we all became engineers of one kind or another. Many years later I
was helping a neighbour fix his exhaust. He had the dirty job of lifting up
the pipe from underneat while I fixed the clamp. Twice I asked him to push
the pipe up against the manifold but the pipe was nowhere near where I
wanted it. Finally there came a plaintive voice from underneath the car
"What IS the manifold?!"
