Before you invest in a pump, you might want to verify that all your wiring is
in order.

To start, check the ground to the pump. It attaches at about where the boot
latch is. Should be a ring with three or more black wires. Make sure all the
connections are clean.

Next, check under the bonnet for the hot wire to the pump. It'll be a white
wire into a bullet connector with two other white wires. A loose connection
here will shut off the pump. The bullet connector tends to corrode and
dissolve.
