Like you, I also remember the question being discussed a while back. The
concensus was that, yes, the low odor paint stripper was not nearly as
effective as the shop strength. Of course the shop strength also is a lot
more toxic and more care is needed working around it (respirator?) and
disposal. I have never used it myself personally but several of my comrades
have and swear by the shop strength product.
