You might just drive yourself a little nuts using
a lambda sensor and trying to get meaningful data out
of them.
They will say if you are rich or lean, but it's very
hard to get a value out of them that indicates that
you are correct. In operation, the output oscillates
between over and under rapidly, and the computer compensates
and it makes a feedback loop.
In theory, you would just turn knobs on the carb
until the sensor output the right voltage and you'd
be done, but it doesn't generally work that well.
