Joe Lucas's spiritual successor, I reckon.

It was a Lucas system that Mercedes Benz used to provide Emergency Braking
Assist - and promptly had a number of shunts up the rear end where the
driver complained that he was just slowing down normally "and all of a
sudden the brakes came full on".  I'd rather have "dim, flicker and off".
Although perhaps not with brakes.
