Bud:

If the jack is raised far enough the inner portion will completely screw
out and seperate.  On the factory originals, they bent or staked the
threads on the end, so it couldn't do that.  I have both an original for
my TD and a repro for my twin cam.  Another thing I just now noticed is
the upper pad doesn't swivel on the repro where it does on the original.
