Hello Skye,
With some new found confidence, (unfounded) I decided to prepare my B
myself. Needless to say, I have run into some niggling annoyances. In
sequence:

* set gap on distrib @ 14 per spec. Tried 16 but it didn't go.
* cleaned everything with cleaner & sandpaper inc rotor/cap
* removed plugs. all lovely light brown. cleaned & re-gap.
* followed instruction from john armstrong to the letter.
adjusted carb to lean with allen key.
My B started to miss, so took her on a drive. She almost backfired when
slowing down, sounded awfully popping loud. No power & at steady pedal
pressure she surged constantly. Idle @ 850/900 very uneven. Sounds like
an Alexander full race cam I had years ago.

I should also add that prior to my attempt, she was going very, very
well. Smooth as silk, excellent acceleration & would cruise @ 60-65mph
no problem.

>From that description, could you offer a diagnosis & advice on how to
fix. My real problem, is she must be aircared either tomorrow, Friday
May 18or latest Monday.

Your advice please & thank you.
