According to Clausager (p99 - picture p100) "All white lenses, however, were
found on cars for the USA, Canda and Italy..." He later states: "From April 66
Canadian cars adpoted the amber indicator lens, and on later cars for North
America, probably from the start of the Mark II model in 1967, all-amber lenses
were fitted."

This implies, but does not really state, that the USA had clear lenses until the
Mark II. The confusion is caused by the two different lenses (turn indicator
and
side marker). There is still the possibility that they could have been half and
half for awhile. There was a good deal of variation of these lights between
the various markets, and they were often mixed part white and part amber and not
always on the same side. I am sure I have seen MG's in the states with half
white and half amber lights. Original, who knows?

I checked again, my 67 B (mfg in 66) still has all white lenses and always has.
