Barrie,
You sound as frustrated as i was yesterday when I tried to reassemble a tach
that I'd taken the top off of. After trying for 4 hours to resolder the wire
to the male coupling that goes to the dizzy, gettting it finally, then
breaking it again, I put all the guts back into the case, put it back in the
dash, and will wait to winter to send it off to someone that can fix my
mistakes :-)
Curiousity killed the cat.... and the dimmer switch..... and the tach.
