I assume you are talking about the pin that connects the whole stub-axle
assembly to the arms of the shock-absorber.  If so, The pin should be a
push-fit through the bearings in the trunnion and the arms.  It should be a
snug fit, of course, are the arms burred?  If there is no way the pin is
going to fit then something is wrong.  If the pin won't go through the
trunnion bearings either then the pin is too big.  Did you replace the shock
absorbers as well?  If the pin goes through the trunnion bearings maybe you
have been given the wrong shocks.  Or maybe the wrong pin and trunnion
bearings.
