Thanks for the info Bill. My only experience with teflon is as an electrical
insulator. If anyone wants to make the ultimate wiring harness, use teflon
insulated wire.

Teflonb actually makes a pretty poor hose by itself.  Teflon is prone to
cold flow so the pressure of the clamp would cause the hose to slowly ooze
at the clamp. Also it is a pretty weak plastic. What I think you meant to
say was a multi layer hose with a Teflon inner layer.  This is relatively
new technology developed for the CARB shed test.  The Teflon gives
impermability and the other layers give structure.  I would not suggest
Teflon lined  for coolant as hot water is one of the few things which over
time will break down the fluorine-carbon bond.  Fuming sulfuric acid is
fine, hot water is bad, go figure.
