In at least one case, I know of one excellent reason for having the
original parts list: There are any number of fasteners - bolts, nuts,
washers, lock washers in steel, plated steel, chrome, brass, in sizes
ranging from #6 up to 1/2" in BA, (a few BSF), UNF, SAE etc, etc, etc.

These are not generally documented in the parts catalogs, but are listed
in the manufacturers parts lists.

The original parts lists were a tremendous help in getting it right
during my recent MGA restoration.

For many makes, it can be crucial to determine the original part number
for
various pieces, especially ones shared across multiple models. But
within
the limited sphere of MGBs, the Moss catalog is so comprehensive, that I
think the original parts catalog would chiefly be of interest to
concours
restorers, wreckers, and those with either a large collection of cars
and
parts or a thirst for minutia. But YMMV.
