I think they call it spoofing. I forwarded one that I received to the e-Bay 
fruad team, and they reported that it was a spoof, if I gave any credit card 
info I should IMMEDIATELY cancel the card, and that if I gave any e-Bay 
account info I should change my userid and password immediately as well.  (Of 
course, I didn't give the info -- I knew it was phony (a) cuz e-Bay would 
never ask for this info and (b) when I looked down at the trailer attached to 
the e-mail I noticed it came from a non-e-Bay address).

About one month ago, I reeived a similar notice that appeared to come from 
PAYPAL.  THey asked for credit card as well as bank account info!!!  Again, 
the PayPal fruad team told me it was a spoof, etc., etc.

Imagine, for every 100 of those that get sent, if only 1 or 2 fall for 
it.......
