Dear list,

Thanks for all the responses to my previous "waterpump" question. As
advised I've bought a new waterpump and gasket. Now I'm at the point
of installing the pump. I'd like to know your opinions about adding a
little liquid gasket or not.

- Advantage:
  - Better chance of making a proper seal.

- Disadvantage:
  - If you add too much, the liquid gasket you've spilled could end
up in the system. (cooling system in this case)
  - Removing the liquid gasket, in the future, can be difficult.

My suggestion would be trying it without adding liquid gasket first.
In case it doesn't work I can buy a new gasket and add a little liquid
gasket in the future. (I have not added any liquid gasket when I've
replaced the heater valve and it worked)

greetings and happy driving,

Menno Meijer
