In my quest to resolve my starting problem on my '78B, by swapping out
ignition relays, I was in checking wires and with my new-and-improved
lighting I realized there are TWO relays. They appear to be physically
identical and have identical markings. I hadn't noticed the second one due
to the previously-poor lighting, coupled with its location near my hood
brace (this car does not have an original hood brace, and the current brace
is poorly position and keeps the hood low and, apparently, obscures a relay
from view).
The setup is like so:
WINDSHIELD
RELAY (2)
FUSE BLOCK
RELAY (1)
RADIATOR/FRONT OF CAR
I've been working on relay (1), and swapping it out did not alleviate the
problem. I just noticed relay (2). I will try swapping that one out, but
my question is, which relay is which? Have I simply been working on the
wrong relay?
