Hi List: In my desire to do the best job I can restoring my son's 1974 B, I
want to disassemble the leaf springs. The car was in a complete flood and
there is silt in every nook and cranny of the car, including the leaves of
the springs.
My hesitation with the tear down of the rear springs is the apparent non
availability of the double end clamps which hold the leaves together. If I
break one in the tear down I will be forced, maybe, to buy a new spring. Not
needed.
Do any of you know a solution or aftermarket item that will work as a
replacement for these clamps?
I really feel I need to get all of the dirt out whenever possible.
