You do need the vented cap (which becomes a service item) and seal off the
restricted vent at the rear of the rocker cover.  Alternatively you could
possibly put a little K&N breather filter on that vent and stay with the
sealed cap.  Only having vented caps I don't know how they (visibly) differ
from non-vented.
