To be honest I don't think there is a lot of wear and tear on the loom and
pipes running under the car in road use, even the exposed pump and tank
connections last donkeys years without problem. Rallying over rough ground
is a different kettle of fish of course and running all services via the
interior is essential if not compulsory. But you can run them through the
interior if you wish, or even through the sills and not have any bumps under
your carpet. But make sure whichever route you take doesn't require a
longer loom!

I would expect the main loom to run right across the front of the car with
bullets by the left-hand and right-hand headlights, if for no other reason
than the left-hand turn flasher has its own wire even though all the others
could be considered to be extensions from the right-hand lights and horn,
certainly is that way on my 73, 75 and an 80 I rewired. Everything should
be plug in/bolt up and go, no additional terminations, but I would recommend
making up ground wires from the rear light clusters instead of relying on
the physical fixings. On a 63 you may have to take these back to the body
bolt for the fuel pump and tank sender, 64 and later had ground bullets by
the clusters for the reversing lights. Do the same for the front
parking/turn lights for the same reason.
