Alas, you won't see me there (I'm in Portland and, uh, busy for this
weekend...), but I can assure you that those are some good Friday nighter
events. I've done a few, and the Hightower's put on one heck of an event.

Also, for you Portland area folks, there is a Friday night series down
here, too. More details can be had at the Cascade Sports Car Club's
website (http://www.cascadescc.com/road_rally.cfm). Friday nighter
rallies are typically the 3rd Friday of every month, starting in March.
The Seattle and Portland folks are very good at keeping their events from
running on top of each other, as there is quite a bit of cross over in the
participants.
Now for an MG specific, rally related item:
I once decided it'd be fun to take my '71 MGB GT on a Friday nighter,
despite that it needed (and still needs) some fairly major work.
Nevertheless, it ran, and with a new wiper motor, it could even take on
the rain.
Fast forward to the transit out to the very first leg of the rally, and
the speedometer's needle drops to zero. Since I was pretty sure we were
still moving, it meant we had a bit of a problem, and no time to fix it.
So, having driven the car for a number of years prior to that night, I
decided that I could tell approximately how fast we were going based on
the RPM reading from the tachometer, and that would keep us reasonably on
time, and hopefully we could stay on course.
Needless to say, we were stunned when we achieved second in class.
Just goes to show that you don't have to be good, just not as bad as the
other folks!
