Congrats on your purchase. My brother and I drove from Michigan to Maryland to
pick up an '80 MGB I bought on eBay. We rented a U-haul auto transport trailer
and made the trip in a weekend. I considered driving the MG back, as the seller
said the car ran great. However, it didn't run quite as great as he said. The
motor would start running rough after a few miles, and the brakes were a little
spongy - although I kinda anticipated the car would need some TLC.  Even with
gas, hotel and trailer rental, the price was less then using an auto transport
company.
