Bill,
Are you referring to the little square thingy on the top of the rear quarter 
panel (Moss part# 472-310) by the snap?  That's for a hook (Moss part# 
472-325) that should be on the forward corner / edge of the convertible top.

The larger square socket inside the car (Moss 472-330), is for the tonneau 
cover bow (Moss 453-630 & 453-640).  I believe this larger inside socket is 
where the wind-blocker Moss (and others) sells does actually go.

Does that help at all?
