The speedometer cable on my 71 B failed yesterday and when I jacked up the car
to see what was involved in removing it from the transmission, I noticed some
heavy black oil leaking on the floor beneath the right rear wire wheel. So
now, in addition to the speedometer cable, I'll need to replace the seal. Do I
also need the bearing and/or anything else? Any good advice on techniques,
tricks and things to avoid? All suggestions greatly appreciated. BTW, my
computer crashed and destroyed all my emails before I could thank all listers
who responded to my request for suggestions on my shop to be. Thank you all.
