Did it only start with the new cable? If not then check the pedal and carb
linkages. If so does the cable have any kinks in it? Outer *or* inner?
Did you lubricate it before fitting? I have to say that mine has tended to
do the same in the 15 years I have had it but as I have little confidence
that a new cable would clear it I live with it, it is 'character'.
