My wife's Geo Metro has a plastic rad. At 1000cc, you might not think it
generates much heat, but then the 3-banger is also notoriously susceptible
to damage from overheating, so it must have some safety margin built in,
even with the tiny area and capacity. The temp gauge rarely strays above the
1/4 mark, I'll say that.
