Nice try, but the '79 B has the horn on the turn signal stalk, not on the
wheel. There is a plastic bushing on the turn signal/horn/dimmer switch
assembly that was pretty well worn. The new switch I put in came with a new
bushing, so hopefully that will cure the noise problem. I'll know when it
stops raining and I can test-drive it.

Are you sure it isn't where the horn brush contact rubs on the slip-ring of
the wheel?  Spot of grease should fix that.
