I agree with Ed, and a simple test right after you clean up the chassis 
grounds and battery terminals. 

Run with the lights on for a while, then feel the back of the headlight 
switch.  Be careful, it could be anywhere from "warmer than normal" 
to "blister-raising".  The closer you are to yelping and yanking your hand 
out, the more urgently you need to replace the switch, though anything 
past "warmer than normal" could be the culprit.

After that, check the fuesebox the same way.
