I took some photos when I took the dash out of our '78 MGB. Here's one
that shows the voltage stabilzer:

It's right above the black rubber blanking plug.
When I cleaned the electrical connections and the grounding of the
unit, the temp gauge began reading in the lower half of its range vs
the upper half prior - no other changes in cooling system.
