Look around the foot pedals. The MC seals leak sometimes and the fluid
flows along the rods back into the car. The carpet may have soaked it up.

78 MG midget.
It has been sitting for around 18 months.
Went to get it running last night and notice that the
brake fluid was empty and the clutch fluid was empty.
No puddle under the car.
