I can confirm that it will work as I used one off a ten speed bike as a
temporary fix on a 65B back in college after the accelerator cable
broke. However, it doesn't quite fit the same, may even have to be cut
to fit. And why go to the bother when a new accelerator cable is cheap
(not sure the cost, maybe $10-$15, cheap enough that I have an extra one
on hand).

Happy Labored Day,

        Finally got a chance to look under the hood and lo, the freying
of 
the accelerator cable requires replacement.  I remember someone writing
in 
the last 8 years that a bike brake line might be a suitable replacement.

Anyone care to confirm or deny???
