Horn work intermittently

On my 77 B the horns work intermittently. I think the problem may be in the  
horn button on the turn lever. 'Does the small round button at the end of the  
lever come out so that the inside can be cleaned? I have tried inserting an  
exacto knife without much success. If it's not made to come apart I obviously  
don't want to go this route. I seem to remember someone on the list saying it 
 comes apart. Thanks
