Scott:

Any barn find MGA is still worth upwards of $1500 nowadays.

The critical areas to look for are condition of the upper areas of the
fenders and the joints between the fenders and the shell.

Anything else can be tackled for a price that could be somewhat recouped
upon sale.

If the fenders cannot be salvaged with patch panels and the inner shell
is in poor shape then walk away unless you are looking for a parts car.
(sad to say). If they can, then it's worth going for if you are
interested in a project car.

Values are a bit flat now, but they will be back up. I've paid over
$1500 for a similar car in the past and been happy.

I came across a car under a tarp, and other than some information on
mgcars.org.uk I haven't found any information about looking one over for
purchase, or values.

It's painted primer grey with essentially no top but the frame is
present. The owner says the seats were replaced, the floorboards need
replacing, the engine transmission and rear end are present. It doesn't
appear to be a twin cam unless I need to pull the cover to see. It's got
one battery he said. The tires are flat and the wire wheels are rusted.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hopefully I'll be talking to the
owners soon .....

Thanks,
