Took off my LF fender yesterday on my '68 B project to check for
unseen rust. I found out two things:

1. It was apparently wrecked in the normal rust spot of that fender
because I found a collection of small holes and filler from one of
those old screw-and-slam dent pullers. Also the rocker is still
dented in that area.
2. Someone, sometime, sprayed rock hard undercoating throughout the
fender wells which is probably why I didn't find any rust, other than
some surface rust along the bolt holes where the top of the fender
and the water channel meet.

Interesting Sherlock Holmes experience there. I'll have to clean up
the filler now, but at least I know where I stand.

But my question is about the caulk between the fender and body around
the window frame area. Is there anything special about this caulk?
Is it the same stuff you see along seams in trunks of modern cars?
We have a product at work called "Sikaflex" that I could probably get
a mostly used tube.
