I once hauled in an abandoned GT for parts. It went onto the trailer fine,
but the floor pan and what little remained of the sills broke in half whilst
unloading, stranding the thing halfway-on and halfway-off of the trailer. We
placed a floor jack under the front member and drove a steel fence post into
the ground behind the trailer. Then we chained the rear bumper support to
the post and finally offloaded the thing by driving the trailer out from
underneath it.
Surprisingly, the car didn't look that bad from the topside.
