Listers,
Problem solved and thanks to all who offered advice. Seems there is a  
bracket under this particular carb that the throttle cable got hooked  
onto and caused the throttle to race on a high idle. Kudos to those  
who called it. Once that was detected and idle reset to 800rpm, car  
running just fine as it was before the hang-up. Something simple that  
was overlooked first time through. Many thanks,
