Quite.  But the more encouragement you give to idiots the more idiotic they
will be.  A UK road safety organisation estimates a quarter of all accidents
are caused by driver distraction, and sat navs are as distracting a hand-held
mobiles.  The irony is that they are probably referred to most when in
built-up areas with pedestrians, cyclists and traffic coming at you from all
directions, precisely when you need greatest attention on what is going on
outside the car.

  Complaining about GPS/Sat Nav just seems silly.  It's a tool, use it wrong
and it'll be an issue. There are plenty of examples of dumb people getting
lost in the wilderness because they can't read a map or use a compass.  Shall
we complain about that technology too?   Don't blame the tool, blame the idiot
using it.
