Dear Sages of the List,

I was wondering if one needs to take the bearing housing off to replace a rear
axle oil seal or just replacing it with out taking off the housing, brakes and
back plate. I've done it the latter way in the past and was wondering if that's
why this one leaked or because it seemed to be in a little crooked. This is an
1954 MGTF with factory wire wheels. Much thanks in advance. Once all the
deluges stop in the Northeast US I'd really like to drive it..
