Before my technical questions, let me ask about manuals.=C2=A0 I have an of=
ficial MGB factory workshop manual, but it was printed in 1965, so obviousl=
y it is not a lot of help with many things on my 1971.=C2=A0 I also have th=
e Bentley manual for 1962-1974, but it's main emphasis is the earlier cars,=
with not a lot of emphasis on the later cars in the 1962 - 1974 group.=C2=
=A0 Mine being a 1971, I can find no reference to the seat belt shoulder ha=
rness attachment design used on the 1968 - 1971 cars.=C2=A0 Does anyone hav=
e a recommendation for a good service manual for a 1971 MGB?=C2=A0 Also, is=
there a useful parts book available for this same year (other than the Mos=
s Motors catalog - which is quite helpful)?
Next question.=C2=A0 I want to replace the outer seals on the door window g=
lass.=C2=A0 These seals are PN 282-380 and 282-390 on page 66 of the Moss c=
atalog.=C2=A0 These seals attach to the outer side of the slot in the top o=
f the door, with rivets.=C2=A0 The problem is getting to the rivets with th=
e window in place.=C2=A0 Is there a way to lower the door glass to get to t=
he rivets, or is it necessary to remove the window glass.=C2=A0 If so, what=
is the procedure to remove the glass?=C2=A0 My manuals are lacking in thes=
e instructions, or I just haven't found it yet.
While I've got the doors apart, I'm thinking about changing the window regu=
lator on the driver's side door.=C2=A0 There is lot's of slop in the mechan=
ism.=C2=A0 The handle moves almost a half turn before the window starts to =
move.=C2=A0 Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the regulator on a 1=
971 model?=C2=A0 Also, I see these are N/A at Moss, so I assume new or repr=
oductions of this regulator are not available.=C2=A0 In which case, does an=
yone have a used driver's side regulator for sale, that would fit a 1971 MG=
B, or know of someone who might have one?=C2=A0 Obviously, I'd like to find=
one with minimum slack in the movement of the gears (caused by wear on the=
 gear teeth?)
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Jack

Subject: Help with some door panel questions
  =20
I am replacing the door panels on my 1971 MGB, and have a couple of questio=
ns.=C2=A0 First, what is the secret for getting the plastic trim pieces tha=
t go around the inner door handle out, then back in?=C2=A0 When I took the =
old panel off, I had to break the masonite panel, in order to get the panel=
off, then the black plastic trim pieces around the door handle fell off.=
=C2=A0 However, with the new panel in place, I'm not sure I can figure out =
how to get these pieces back in.=C2=A0 Any hints?=20

Second question.=C2=A0 I ordered new door panel mounting clips from Moss.=
=C2=A0 Part number 226-670 is a black plastic part that clips into the door=
panel, then pushes into the holes in the door.=C2=A0 I also ordered part n=
umber 226-675.=C2=A0 These are clear plastic, and appear to be something yo=
u would push into the holes in the doors.=C2=A0 Then the part number 226-67=
0 would push into them.=C2=A0 My car did not have any of these on it (226-6=
75).=C2=A0 It simply used the 226-670, and pushed them directly into the ho=
les.=C2=A0 I'm wondering if the 226-675 pieces were used on an earlier mode=
l?=C2=A0 Should I be using these on my car?

Thanks for any help you can give me.=C2=A0 This has been a great group I ha=
ve joined, and I really appreciate the help you have given me.=C2=A0 I will=
try to return the favor sometime.

Jack
