Remember, the racks are not greased =E2=80=94 they should filled with oil. =
Many people make the mistake of assuming a zerk fitting implies the use of =
grease gun, but that is not the case.

& welding a grease fitting on a used replacement rack, but that one also wa=

 should last me the rest of my driving life with the car!

Try disconnecting the tie rod ends and re-assessing. The MG rack &
pinion is quite sturdy. While it is possible the R&P could seize, I
think it more likely one or both kingpins would seize - especially if
the rubber seals have perished and it has not been greased regularly.

Anyone in/near northeastern Pennsylvania have a good used steering rack for=
 a 1970/71 B?  Steering on my B/GT has seized up?apparently no previous own=
er ever lubricated it....
