According to Clausager there were four different sets of columns and =
wheels over the years and they are not interchangeable. But that isn't =
necessarily borne out by the Parts Catalogue, and North America may have =
changed from the first to the second type with the Mk2, whereas the rest =
of the world didn't change until the 1970 model year, and only had three =
types. The last change for the 1977 model year on only has an impact on =
indicator cancelling and horn push, the splines don't seem to have =
changed after 1970. Incidentally the horn push moved to a column stalk =
for just one year before moving back to the wheel, what impact that had =
on the wheel centre I don't know.

For North America the splines for the Mk1 were 3/4" x 48, then 5/8" x =
36, then 11/16" x 36. If that wasn't complicated enough there were =
three different thread and TPI combinations - Mk1 11/16" x 27TPI, up to =
1970 9/16" x 27TPI, then 9/16" x 18TPI.=20

I have a 1969 MGB GT with some aftermarket steering wheel. Does the =
early (63-67) steering wheel in all the catalogs fit my car, or is the =
splined shaft a different size?
