 I own a 1973 MGB so am not sure if this applies to 1980. The turn signal w=
ires run to the Emergency Flasher Switch in the console. Replaced the E Fla=
sher Switch in the console - problem solved with turn signals.

A friend is having problems with the turn signals on a 1980 B.=C2=A0 He=E2=
=80=99s replaced the left-hand switch unit (turn signals & horn).=C2=A0 Lef=
t-hand signals flash, and 4-ways flash, but the right-hand signals only lig=
ht steadily.=C2=A0 He=E2=80=99s located the one flasher unit, but can hear =
another one clicking somewhere and can=E2=80=99t locate it -- =C2=A0where s=
hould he look?=C2=A0 (The wiring diagram doesn=E2=80=99t help, and the car =
has been thoroughly hacked up by DPOs.)

On my car there are two flasher units located behind the glove box, mounted=
 next to each other.=C2=A0 One is for the turn signals and the other is for=
 the hazard flashers.=C2=A0=C2=A0 I'm not sure where else someone would mou=
nt the flasher, but people do lots of inventive things.

re is one flasher unit for the hazards and one for the turn signals.=C2=A0W=
hen one side glows but doesn't flash the problem is in the circuit that sid=
e.=C2=A0 The original flasher units needed a certain amount of current to f=
lash properly, and if that current=C2=A0reduces they flash slower=C2=A0or s=
top. If one bulb fails the other will glow continuously, but that should be=
 obvious by checking both ends.=C2=A0If both are glowing then either one or=
 both bulbs is too low a wattage or there are bad connections in the circui=
t.=C2=A0 These need patience to resolve by measuring volt-drops through the=

t2=C2=A0However if this only started when the turn switch was replaced you =
should check the connections there first, making sure the two connectors ar=
e fully pushed together and none of the pins have been pushed out of the ba=

ld do better.

 If you use Amazon you may have taken up their 'Prime' service which you ha=
ve to pay for.=C2=A0 Neat what?=C2=A0 You have to pay for good service !!!=

 it!
 I found we had been charged $7.99 for years plus a yearly fee although can=
not remember joining.=C2=A0=C2=A0 We rarely use Amazon as "get it now" does=
 not attract us and the last purchase was 6 months ago.=C2=A0=C2=A0 So obvi=
ously cancellation of Prime was required.=C2=A0 Now we come to Amazon's sup=

d up going round and round their web pages but no how, no where does it all=
