Bradley,

Welcome to the group. Sorry to hear about the MG. That's a shame.
You don't say where you live so I can't steer you to any clubs or
cars near you. What are you looking for, any year, a particular
type (4/4, +4, +8 or trike)?

I know of a couple of fixer uppers:

'56 4 seater needs restoration $ 3,500 (717) 244-5279 Pa.
'56 DHC older restoration $ 9,950 (847) 492-1525 Il.
'63 +4 RHD needs restoration $10,500 (630) 553-9023 Il.
'65 +4 needs restoration $ 7,500 (510) 634-6179 Ca.
'66 +4 needs wood $ 6,500 (708) 553-9023 Il.

The following is a generic welcome that I've written up. I
send it to newcomers (newbees). If you already are aware of
the information just skip it. Nothing in here is ment as a dig
(flame) at anyone. The content is mine (John T. Blair) and not
that of SOL or the Morgan mailing list.

------------

Welcome to the group. I'm not exactly an old timer here myself.
I joined in Feb of 96 so I have a few months under my belt. Since
that time, we have had a lot of neat things happening. Don't know
how you found the list or know anything about our sponcers Scions
of Lucas (SOL). The guys that maintain the hardware (Mark Bradakis
and The Department of Computer Science University of Utah Salt Lake City,
UT) and software (Roger Garnett in NY) do a great job for us.
They have compiled a ton of useful information. To start looking
at what SOL provides (other than just the Morgan list) try checking
out the URL: http://www.team.net/sol/

In addiition to the Morgan list, SOL supports a bunch of other mailing
lists for cars and tools. I personally belong to the Morgan, British
car, and shop talk mailing lists. The Morgan list has about 100
members while the British car list has over 300. Always something
interesting going on.

When you joined the Morgan list, you should have gotten a post from
Majordomo with a greeting. It contains information on how to
**unsubscribe** and how to get various other information about the
mailing lists. Please create a mail folder (I use SAVE) and maintain
this message and other like that you receive from other groups. You
will find it very useful in the future. When you forget what you
read some xxx months or years ago.

In addition, many other fellows have made some very nice
contributions. 3 that I think are very useful to use Morgan owners
are:

  1. Dave McCoy (gdm@po.CWRU.Edu) recently compiled a roster of Morgan
owners. It can be gotten via email to majordomo@autox.team.net.
Send your message to majordomo@autox.team.net with the following
     text lines.

             get morgans roster
             end

and the file [Just over 10k] will be emailed back to you.

  2. There is a Roadside assistance list created and maintained by
jer@thlogic.com which gives name, phone #, etc. of people all
over the country that can help if you are in their area. This
list extends beyond the members of the Morgan list.

This list of roadside assistance contains sensitive information,
such as people's addresses and phone numbers. So, please don't
circulate this web address or information herein outside of the
British car lists, including adding any links to this page
     on any other pages.

To be added to the list, simply email jer@thlogic.com with
     your information.

  3. We have a Morgan Web page under SOL. It contains various
information and restoration articles. To get to it, go to
     SOL's tech page:
           http://www.team.net/www/morgan

If you have any parts cross reference information or other
technical information that is not already contained on the
Web page, please email me. If you can convert the
information to HTML, great! If not, I'll do it or help you
     learn how.

One of my pet peives is that people don't put at least their state
(and or city) in their signature. We have to remember that there
might be 200 Bob(s) that you are conversing with. Not to mention that
we are not restricted to the US. We are international.

Hope you enjoy the efforts and have fun with the SOL gang.
