Fred,

I don't know about the spokes. But I used some Stainless steel on the
tie-rod end sleeves
On my Bricklin. I was very supprised when I tightened them down, and then
went to undo them.
The tightening of the sleeves was too much for the stainless steel bolts.
When I tried to remove, they all stripped and broke.

As to the nuts and bolts loosening on your trike. I think this is a common
problem on any Morgan and not unique to stainless. I used stainless
extensively during the restoration of my
Morgan, but I used "loctite" on every nut and bolt. My dad started me on
this with our midget
race car. He wouldn't put a nut or bolt on the car without loctite.

For high stress applications I always use grade 8 hardware even if it might
be over kill.
However, I don't usually use stainless in these applications. You can get
Grade 8 stainless
steel nuts and bolts, I've just never bothered.
