I have a 1994 Miata "R" (stiffer suspension, power nothing) bought used
last year while I decide between a Morgan and a Caterham. Easy to work
on, nothing breaks or falls off, and more fun than the Triumphs I grew
up with (Dad was a dealer). The Miata is one of the few roadsters which
has resisted the lure of power tops, seats, etc., which most of the other
new 2-seaters have fallen victim to. And only 2300 pounds vs. nearly 3000
for the Boxster, Z3, SLK et. al. Think I'll keep it while we both become
antiques.
