Actually, there were quite a few MORGANs in Monterey for the "Big Weekend"
and even more "MORGAN People."
There were a couple of MORGAN events as well. There was a large party on
Friday evening at the Carmel Valley home of Loren Steck and Annett Yee. On
Saturday evening Dennis Glavis arranged a dinner for the MORGAN Folk in
Pacific Grove.
On the racing front, Saturday saw Dale Barry and Al Moss driving three
wheelers. In Sunday's races John Burks and Jim Belardi drove Flat-Rads
while Greg Solow drove his quick Plus 4. MORGAN Folk not in MORGANs
included Tom Kearney in an Alfa, John Burnham in a Cooper and John Willburn
in the "Fearless Peerless." I do not have the program here in front of me
so there were probably other MORGAN folk driving non-MORGANs as well.
We saw Steve and Martin Beer, all the way from Canada in the pits. They had
built the engine for John Burnham's Cooper.
I would advise MORGAN Folk from outside California who plan to attend the
Monterey Weekend to contact either Dennis Glavis from the Northern Club or
myself from the Southern Club beforehand to check on various MORGAN
happenings over the Weekend.
