Harald,

I've been dabbling at the periphery of geosciences for about 20 years now
and have never heard of "clingerite." What is it?

Thanks

I have successfully been making exhaustgaskets and cylinderhead gasket out
of clingerite several times.
As usual these gaskets is "temporary solutions" in use when I (too late)
order a new gasket.
But i have been surprised several times how long they last.

The cylinderhead gasket in my 2-stroke was made of clingerite and have
lasted since, and that must be 3-4 years ago.

The clingerite i use is a 3mm green plate of the gasket materials used for
large diesel heaters.
A local shop have this material for their own use when they need to change
the burner in a more rear brand of heaters. Really cheap and pretty good
stuff.
It is a must in the toolbox when you are on rallies. With a small figuresaw,
scissors, a sharp knife, some leafs of rubber/cork/paper/clingerite you are
able to make any gasket and be running again withing minutes.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a new pair of manifold gaskets for
my '61 +4? Moss is out and I have a rally coming up so I am getting
very nervous. Any help is appreciated!
