Fellow Morganeers,

I was reviewing the 1963 Production Car Specifications (PCS) for the SCCA
on the 1963 plus 4 and Plus 4 Super Sports.

What interests me is the numbers next to the options allowed in racing
this year and other years.

I have a summary below

allowed options for Plus 4 Morgan:

wire wheels
Oversize liners 122166
Oversize pistons 122208
Cylinder head gasket 205481
Oil cooler V4-2-66
Induction manifold V4-10-200
4 Branch exhaust manifold V4-10-202
Aluminum Sump V4-10-211
Radiator Shield V4-2-69
Limited Slip Differential V4-3-70

Allowed options for Plus 4 Morgan Super Sports:

wire wheels
Oversize liners 122166
Oversize pistons 122208
Cylinder head gasket 205481
Oil cooler V4-2-66
Induction manifold V4-10-200
4 Branch exhaust manifold V4-10-202
Aluminum Sump V4-10-211
Radiator Shield V4-2-69
Limited Slip Differential V4-3-70
Distributor V4-10-45
Large Gas Tank V4-9-79

Besides the SS options, standard to the SS ie) webers, header tanks on
the low line version etc. the list adds in a Large gas tank and dist.
over the Plus 4. I also note the triumph numbers seem to be used for the
engine liners pistons and gaskets, does anyone have a manual to confirm
this?

I dont have it in front of me, but the first number V4 is for the plus 4,
I found a list of PCS for the 4/4 and it had different front numbers.
The next two numbers seen to indicate the area, ie) the V4-10 is engine,
as the manifold, sump and distributor all have this number. last seems
to be the final part number. This indicated some sort of Morgan numbering
system, but I have been told none existed.

I wrote Don Greimel, and he looked for me at the bellhousing of the
morgan, and it has V4-11-50 indicating that morgan actually cast these
numbers on some parts at the factory.

I would like some more help with this, and would ask anyone who has seen
such numbers to let me know, as I will compile and get out a list of all
known numbers for the list. I have some interest personally, as the
Morgan SS we have came with dual fillers and enlarged gas tank, rad
shield, sump etc. in the factory record, and we know it was ordered by
Fergus Motors.

What does the list think? Any more numbers on Morgans out there?
